Select / Private Call (CALL)

This menu-selection allows the radio-user to transmit a Conventional - Selective Call or a Trunking - Private Call. The radio user must select the required Contact / Call ID and then press the PTT button to initiate the Call. Select Calls and Private Calls are typically used when the majority of transmissions are between a dispatcher and a radio-user, or a group of radio-users. Calls are targeted based on the Call ID selected from the channel's Call Hot List or entered directly by the radio-user. Select Calls and Private Calls are intended not so much to ensure privacy but rather to eliminate the annoyance of users receiving traffic that does not pertain to them.
